Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, pastor, teacher, mentor, philanthropist, and author told his global audience in one of his many sermons:
“The key isn’t just having the Word in your heart or the pages of the Bible, but in your mouth; speaking it forth, and it‘ll bring prosperity into your life.”
Our Man of God goes on to say that everyone deserves access to God’s Word, the quality of our life depends on the quality of the words we hear. He explains: “There’s a blessing for hearing the word and an even greater blessing for responding to the word.”
The power of the Spirit in your words
In today’s Rhapsody of Realities, Pastor Chris talks about the power of the spirit in your words.
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63).”
He expands on this by saying: “The excitement during our worship, praise, and thanksgiving would not produce life if the contents of the songs aren’t delivered in words that are consistent with the New Testament of Christ. No matter the shouting, without the Spirit, it’s an empty shout. The Spirit makes the difference.”
We have to understand that words have substance. Pastor Chris explains the power of words by saying that “Men go to Heaven or hell either by what they say or don’t say.”
When you speak the right words, the Spirit acts upon them. There is the power of spirit in our words, the Man of God explains:
“Words recognize no seasons or barriers. Words are things; they’re tangible and potent with creative energy. So, don’t say, “Well, I wasn’t serious when I said it”; in the realm of the spirit, everything you say is living and active. It’ll work for you or against you. That’s the reason we emphasize speaking the Word only; speaking truth.”
“Don’t use words carelessly. Know, think, talk and sing the Word; whether in merrymaking or in praise to God! Let your life be consistent with God’s truths, and you’d be amazed at the resultant blessings in your life.”
The power of thoughts
Thoughts are powerful, they are images clothed in vocabulary and they can come from God, your mind, or the devil.
We also heard in a sermon by Pastor Chris about the power of thoughts.
“Visualization is the design of your life and circumstances. It is the construction of your life and circumstances with thoughts and words. Visualization is for designing your life and circumstances. God wants us to use our visual power, and you are going to use yours. This is so important! Satan wants you to see everything else from his perspective so that you’ll create Everything he wants. You can’t let the devil run your life; you can recreate your life and circumstances. You have to use your power of Visualization, not just for you but for your community and Nation and we can only win! Construct your life and circumstances with the right thoughts and words. Intentionally use visualization; keep your attention away from those things that are against your construction. God wants you to keep your visual powers and use your faith in reaching your mind and spirit.”
