“Promote God’s righteousness everywhere, for the end of all things is near.”
“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south” (Psalm 75:6).
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome explains that what matters to God is how effectively we’re promoting His righteousness. He wants us to be passionate for the Gospel, and the establishment of His Kingdom in the hearts of men and nations of the earth.
Pastor Chris reminds us “You’re a missionary here on earth, an ambassador for Christ, commissioned to take the message of salvation to everyone in your world; therefore, this year, more than you’ve ever done, get yourself occupied with evangelism and soul-winning. Help someone else receive salvation; help those around you learn the Word; show them the path of life! Teach them how to live. This is your calling as a Christian.”
“Everywhere you are, be busy for the Lord. Stand for Him. You’re His ambassador, and a minister of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:20-21). What counts the most in your life is what you do with the Gospel, for the salvation of men, regardless of your vocation.”
Prepare to Win Souls
The preparation has begun as new souls give their hearts to Christ. The desire is for all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. This is our ‘Year of Preparation’, the Bible didn’t say “God has given to the pastors and evangelists the ministry of reconciliation,” rather it says He has given to us everyone who’s born again the ministry of reconciliation. It’s our call to be effective soul winners. God’s highest blessings are for soul winners; never forget that. As you win souls, you’re promoted in the spirit, and the Spirit of God increases His grace and glory upon your life to do more. So let’s do the work of the Father; soul-winning, today.
This is something to take very seriously this year; every month, have a target, and a clear cut plan of how you’re going to effectively lead people to Christ. There’s no better way to experience the excitement of Christianity and live for the Lord than to be a soul-winner. So get busy for the Lord; be passionate about His work. Make soul-winning your lifestyle.
God’s Word Removes All Darkness From Your Life
“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6)
The Lord Jesus is the Light of the world. He’s the Light that shines in the darkness, and the Bible says the darkness comprehends it not (John 1:5). This same Light has shined in our hearts, to give us light of the knowledge of the glory of God. The Word of God is light (Psalm 119:105); that light is in our hearts. That means no more darkness, no more confusion, and no more uncertainties in your life. There’s direction and purpose for your life because you have the light of life: “…I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12). – Pastor Chris
As Christians, we’re all in the ministry of reconciliation; we’re called to win souls. As soul winners, there’re certain requirements necessary for an effective ministry in leading men to Christ. Arm yourself with these truths as you go about your soul-winning work, and you’ll be a more effective minister of reconciliation.
For newly won souls it is important for them to be received into God’s family. Many times we preach and we don’t receive the people into the family of God. They should live consciously in the kingdom of God and they must be brought into the awareness of their new place and home and that they are now in God’s family.
The work of soul-winning is not done until that individual we have won has grown to a level of maturity where he or she has taken the responsibility of winning others to the Lord. In raising others, we teach them to spread the Good News of the Gospel just as Jesus taught His disciples to do the things that He was doing. Jesus also charged them to teach others. The sermons of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome provide profound wisdom and are a key to enlightening our understanding of the need for soul-winning and maintaining the souls brought to Jesus Christ.
