The year 2019 started off beautifully as the man of God addressed his glorious crowd, who, immersed in the warmth of his magnificent words were shaking with excitement. The Loveworld president revealed the deeper meaning behind the new year’s theme, explaining the various aspects of light and the roles it plays in our lives.

“There are different kinds of lights. Some are for illuminations, some are for leadership, guidance, some are for empowerment some are for signs and wonders, signs and seasons. What’s about to happen through the church of Jesus Christ, the Bible tells us as the days get closer and closer to the return of Jesus Christ, gross darkness will cover the earth, he says thick darkness will cover the earth. He’s talking about spiritual darkness -but in the midst of this, your light will so shine. The darker the darkness the more brightly you shine.”

The eventful evening was definitely bright as the highly admirable FALA winners were honoured for their incredible achievements. Bestowing them with their awards was the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo. These 10 winners, chosen from 30 initial nominees in the Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) graced the Loveworld Convocation.

The many notable FALA contenders left electors rather stumped due to their collectively overwhelming achievements. Among these impressive new faces of Africa was Chris Iyama, a 24-year-old United Nations Ambassador for World Peace. He is the founder and Executive Director of the Centre for youth participation and advocacy in Africa (CYPAAFRICA). CYPA AFRICA encourages African youth to take part in political and judiciary processes.

Other FALA recipients included Yusuph Gasase (Tanzania); Maame Yaa Addei Mensah (Ghana); Godwin Egba (Nigeria); Isaiah Deng (South Sudan); Ngassa Merlin (Cameroon); Taonga Ngoma (Zambia); Lantante Duamangue (Niger); and, Deliwe Makata (Malawi). Each of these inspirational youths spread hope for the future of Africa and give pride to each of their individual nations.

The ceremony was a night of pride for all Love world citizens. The Pastor’s powerful words were of course not just limited to those attending the Loveworld Convocation Arena. Thanks to two exclusive broadcasts on Ceflix and Loveworld TV, the entire event was beamed live into the homes of thousands of soul winning partners, providing the globe with the glow that emanated from Pastor Chris, the man of God.

Thousands were able to witness what was described as “a mosaic, no a kaleidoscope of colour, sound, warmth and faith – truly exhilarating” Another added, “I felt the ecstasy spread from my ears and eyes to my heart, then to my soul, the ephemeral part of my being”.
